The start of the Millennium Rod! Isn't it exciting?!?!?
I don't think I'm going to have the knife bit. Just wont be taking apart my Millennium Rod, okay? no one has to know and I don't think I can make that :x
I bought a 3-inch wooden ball from A.C. Moore along with some Sculpey to make the head of the scepter. The first two images on the left are before baking; the two on the right are after. To cook the eye in the dome shape it would need to fit properly on the ball, I covered the ball in tin foil to get it's shape; I then filled up that ball with more tin foil so that the sphere wouldn't be crushed by the weight of the eye. Stuck the eye on the sphere, stuck the sphere on an old baking pan, and let dat baby burn. I haven't really figured out the best way to attach these things to make them durable...anyone have any ideas? can you screw sculpey into wood? ._. I don't think glue will be enough, it's kind of heavy.
SPRAY PAINT! Soon. I also still have to make my sonic ears. Whaaa.
So I painted them! HAHA! It took a couple of hours, because of how meticulous everything is, but they look great! There's some touch ups; some paint went where it wasn't supposed to go, and some places (like on the buckles) there isn't quite enough. I also still have to put a sealer on top of everything to secure it from cracking/peeling/coming off...but I'm super proud and I love them so much! It started to rain when I was finishing up, though. That kinda sucks.
Anyone have any black platform gothic boots and or black shorts I could buy or borrow for my Marik costume? Thaanks!
THE HAIR!! IT EXISTS! I was thinking about adding some blonde. I dunno. Herp.
Ayeee, so is coming along niceee, eh?
This is the new eyemakeup I tried; more wings, some blueish, greenish eyeshadow. (Stilld debating over contacts; lots of money to make it so they wont destroy my eyes.)
Those ARE the sonic shoes, but I have not painted them! That is my venture for today. Dun dun duuuun.
It also occurred to me, whist shopping with the lovely Obadiah yesterday, that I could take bouncyballs and make dragon balls.
OH THE FUN I COULD HAVE. If anyone has orange shorts, I can make a DBZ costume :) I have everything else. I wasn't going to have a day three costume, but it's possible :x
So...this is the begining!
The lavennder jacket is in the proccess of creation, but here is another hoodie sweater I have with the jacket chains attached (with safty pins) to get a sense of how it will look. The shorts I bought were far too small, so I have to take those back.
I edited to see what the purple eyes would look like, but I still don't know if contacts are going to be an option. (I don't wear glasses, and therefore I have no prescription; i don't really want to just go buy contacts that could mess up my eyes.)
Also, not a big fan of the wig I bought. Not Mariky enough. Nyerh. I'll keep looking for another one, but that's $20 down the drain.
I made the earrings! i likes them a lot. I also have all the materials to make my millenium rod, but I still need to do the actual contrstuction of it.
ALL OF TEH SONICS.
So many of them.
ALSO HELP ME MAKE DECISIONS POR FAVOR:
Well this is the costume with flesh tights instead of white tights...which looks better?
Going to cut a hole in the middle for the sonic belly, but I have to figure out the most sensible way to do that first O_O I'm probably going to want some new gloves because it's impossible to do anything in those. I was considering fingerless gloves with white painted nails so I can still function and touch things around the convention.
These are edited to have the green eyes, and I'm still debating if buying green contacts is worth it. ('Cause if I do that, I have to do it the right way) OR just having more extreeme eye makeup; the wings that are there, with like some blue and green eyeshadow. Or something. But this is the first sonic specific makeup I tried. Not a big fan of the sparks though, I have to say. Might even try this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-i3bhvj3MU0
This is the hairstyle, I'll just be wearing fade-to-blue weave. So THAT will be exciting.
I still need ears though, now that I think about it. Haven't decided yet how to do that, either. I doubt I could make attractive ones, but where to buy? How to find the right color? AGHRHAH
Currently searching for the next costume's components: Marik from YuGiOh. gugugugugu.
GUUH! The begining of my Sonic costume. I still have to make my sonic shoes; these were just the red ones I had on hand. I also haven't deicded if I want to wear white tights or flesh colored ones. Planning on cutting out a circle in the middle to fill with white mesh for my sonic belly; it'll also match the mesh that Sarah is going to use in her Tails costume.
I have 2 hotel rooms reserved; for $110 if we get two more people that'd be awesome.
